Everybody is waiting for something.

That's why we've put together THE COMING OF THE KING

It's a DAILY Advent journey of HOPE FOR ALL in the waiting that includes 27 days of Scripture Readings,

Meditations, Prayers and Reflections on God with us.

We want you to use this, along with the upcoming sermon series,

to REMEMBER that God is WITH YOU even in the waiting

We have combined contributions from many of you as well as from a variety of others present and past.

The Advent season is a unique time for Christians to prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, the coming King.

Thank you for choosing to spend this Advent season with us!

Over the next 27 days, we hope you EXPLORE the true meaning of Advent

and remember the great JOY God has promised for those who WAIT for the HOPE in Him.

It is tempting to celebrate the ADVENT season by simply celebrating the modern traditions of Christmas -- and why not?

Christmas is wonderful, isn't it?

The hope and expectation felt during the Christmas season is only a glimmer of what Advent represents:

the waiting, longing for and looking forward to Christ, the greatest gift — God with us.

It’s clear, perhaps this year more than ever before, that we live in a broken world full of sin and sickness.

We need our good God to intervene. He did intervene that first Christmas. God began to make all things new.

He continues to do so today.

And God will ultimately perfect this world when Christ comes again.

People associate Advent with the coming of Christ to Earth on Christmas day.

And that is an important aspect of Advent.

But there are other “comings” that Advent reminds us of as well.

Throughout the Old Testament, Israel waited for the coming of their Messiah.

You yourself experienced life change when Jesus came into your life.

And we, the church, wait in hope for Christ to come again, ushering in His perfect kingdom,

where sorrow will be a thing of the past.

We want to spend this season thinking about all of these “comings of the King”

waiting in joyful hope together for our Savior.

We pray that, as you reflect on God’s plan and goodness over these 27 days leading up to Christmas,

hope and joy will grow in you as well. Then, we’ll end in celebration on Christmas Day,

knowing a greater celebration is yet to come!
