Joy to the world, the Lord is come; Let Earth receive her King!
Today we celebrate the birth of Jesus!
Our King came!
We celebrate His long-awaited coming more than 2,000 years ago as the Savior whom God promised.
We celebrate His coming into our lives personally because of His good grace. And we celebrate the future return of Jesus to take His rightful place as King of all creation.
You can celebrate because you have confidence that God will fulfill His promises. He showed He was trustworthy by fulfilling more than 300 prophecies through Jesus’ life on Earth.
You can celebrate because the promises of the future return of Jesus will be fulfilled as well.
God’s track record as the Promise Keeper gives us confidence and hope as we eagerly await Jesus and the Kingdom He will bring. Here are a few of those promises:
When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. Before Him will be gathered all the nations. (Matthew 25:31-32)
So Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for Him. (Hebrews 9:28)
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:1-3)
Celebrate today knowing that Jesus came and is coming back.
And on His return, like the wise men in Matthew 2:11, you will have an opportunity to bow down and worship Him. The best is yet to come.
